Randy Morretti Wins and Clinches 1st Sportsman Championship at Seekonk Speedway

MORETTI GRABS SPORTSMAN WIN, LOCKING UP SEASON CROWN

SEEKONK, Mass. — Saturday’s 30-lap Sportsman race went right down to the final few feet before it was decided at Seekonk Speedway, and it wasn’t even decided there. Scott Serydynski Jr and Randy Moretti drove from deep in the field to the front and raced it out to the finish line, with Serydynski edging Moretti for the top spot at the checkered flag.

After post-race inspection, the results changed. Moretti was awarded the win as Serydynski didn’t clear inspection. With Moretti’s win, he sealed up his first career Sportsman championship at Seekonk Speedway a week early, accumulating so many playoff points that no one will be able to catch him.

Nick Wood was officially second in the rundown, with Josh Hedges third. Nathan Rioux also did not clear inspection, moving Doug Benoit to fourth and Daniel Leach to complete the top-five.

The Sportsman will be back on the track on Saturday, September 26, for the season-finale of the 2026 season.
