Craig Bushey gets 3rd Late Model Win at Speedway51

It was a very special night at Speedway 51 this past Saturday night as Beattie Enterprises presented Mike Beattie’s Riverside Speedway Blast from the Past II reunion night. Several former Late Model champions were on hand for the presentation, as well as former track employees and competitors.

The North Country Ford Late Models put on a great show in their 40 lap main event as Craig Bushey edged out point leader, Brendon Moodie to score the win. Brad Bushey, James Laroche and Corey Burgess rounded out the top five. Craig Bushey also captured the preliminary race.

Burt Spooner collected his career first victory in the Perras Ace Hardware Tiger Sportsman main as he held off a late race challenge from Steve Heitz and Nick Gilcris. Ryan Boutin and Craig Bushey rounded out the top five. Spooner also won his qualifying round. Heitz claimed the $500 cash bonus put up by track owner, Joey Laquerre.

Tom Merchant survived a late race restart to collect top honors in the Caron Fabrication Street Stocks. Dean Switser Jr., Greg Adams, Ryan Ware and Kasey Beattie rounded out the top five. Ware took top honors in the preliminary round.

Chris Ouellette scored his fourth win of the season in the White Mountains Community College Cyclones as he earned a hard fought victory over teammate, Nick Miller. Travis Moulton, Randy Richardson and Nick Gilcris followed Ouellette to the finish. Makita Giroux won the Claudette & Dean’s Place Daredevil feature ahead of Jesse Laquerre.

Racing resumes next Saturday night at Speedway 51 powered by the Autosaver Group as the NEAR Antique Racers will be in town along with the North Country Ford Late Models, the Perras Ace Hardware Tiger Sportsman, Caron Fabrication Street Stocks,
White Mountains Community College Cyclones and the Claudette & Dean’s Place Daredevils, plus the Annual Kids Pit Tour will take place at intermission. Post time is 6pm.
